Spring Break is right around the corner! Here at Monkee's of Auburn we are all ready for some sunshine and warm weather! When getting ready to pack for your Spring Break trip, remember these packing tips! Here are a few ways to pack light, but also to make sure that you have options.

1. SHOES
One of the biggest mistakes many women make when packing, is bringing way too many shoes. I am definitely guilty of this! It's almost like we have separation anxiety with our shoes! One of the best ways to fix this, is to pack a pair of shoes that will go with everything. A perfect flat sandal for a trip to the beach is Jack Rogers Navajo Sandal. These shoes are perfect beach shoes as well as cute flats to wear with a sun dress or cute shorts and a top. If you must have one more pair of shoes, go with a wedge or a heel that is also a neutral color so that it can be worn with many pieces also.

2. EASY FABRICS
If you dont want to have to worry about having to iron or steam your clothes, choose an easy fabric that doesn't wrinkle. Tracy Negoshian fabrics are great because they require little maintenance. Her dresses are very easy to throw on and go without having to worry with steaming. Jude Connally also has many dresses that are easy to wear.

3. COMFORTABLE OUTFIT FOR THE DAY OF TRAVEL
Make sure to dress comfortable for flights or long road trips. Nothing is worse than being in a cramped car with an outfit that wont allow you to breathe. Layers will be your best friend! With layers, you can make sure that you're comfortable in any termperature. For flying a perfect outfit would be a maxi dress with a cardigan or wrap and flat shoes.

4. PACKING A CARRY ON
When packing a carry-on, make sure to review the airline rules so that you won't have any problems before boarding the plane. If you are bringing a change of clothes, roll the clothes up to help save some space. It is a good idea to pack small quanitites of your essentials just in case your luggage is lost. Be sure to pack your headphones, iPod and Kindle/Nook or iPad so that you will have something to read or listen to while flying. Many airlines now are allowing passengers to use wifi! Check with your airline to see what kinds of amenities they offer.

5. DON'T FORGET THE NECESSITIES
Sometimes it is very easy to get so excited about the trip that you forget to pack all of the important everyday items. The best thing to do is make a checklist and be sure to write down all of those little things, even if you think that there is no way you will forget them. Better to be safe than sorry! You would hate to miss your flight because you forgot to grab your passport! This packing list from JohnnyJet is very detailed and would be great to print out and check off as you pack! Speaking of passports, Kate Spade has some adorable passport holders that are a must have for any trip!!
